Our Drivers

We take exceptional pride in our drivers! They are known for their professionalism, safety, and concern for our passengers. Each driver goes through an extensive training program, with instruction both in the classroom and over-the-road. Each is drug-tested prior to employment, and remains in a drug-testing pool for random tests for the full duration of their employment. But what sets us apart from other companies is our drivers’ passion! They love to be on the road with happy people going to incredible places. Let us introduce some of them to you here, along with a few words from their fans!

I am a U.S. Army Veteran, married for 28 years, 3 children (1 boy, 2girls), and I have 15 years of transportation experience. I love my job, and can’t believe I get paid to have so much fun traveling, seeing the country, and meeting wonderful people. I appreciate the mission of Little Rock Coaches – to provide 100% customer service/satisfaction while focusing on safety and respect for my passengers, vehicle, and co-workers.

“We had a great time.  Mr. Cartwright was an excellent driver.  He was prompt, very courteous, and well in control of our safety.  He called me two days before the trip and again the morning of the trip.  Our experience was a solid 12 out of 10.” – Bettina

I have been with Little Rock Coaches for 13 years and I think it is the best job ever!  I feel like I am paid to go on vacation.  I love meeting new people, seeing great attractions, and helping my guests.  In my free time, I love to travel, biking, and fishing.  I have 5 daughters and 5 grandsons.

“We had a great time and everything went well. Ken is a

we hope to have him drive for us next year when we go to
South Carolina!” – Gladys

Chris goforth

Chris

With 12 years of transportation experience, I’ve had my CDL for more than five years.  I got my start driving ambulances in Central Arkansas and had my share of high-intensity situations.  Now I love driving people who are relaxed and like to see the world… I love driving for Little Rock Coaches!  I also enjoy spending time in the outdoors – hunting, fishing, and riding ATVs!

“We had a blast!  Chris was attentive and he went above and beyond to insure we had a great trip.  He knew the area well and he is very safety oriented.  We are looking forward to booking him again for our next excursion!” – Mandy

Robert Hambly

Robert

I am a professional motorcoach driver with more than 30 years commercial driving experience. I grew up living in National Parks all over this great country, so I know a lot of beautiful spots. I have 5 grandchildren. My hobbies are motorcycle drag racing, fishing and cooking! I love my job at Little Rock Coaches, the people I have met, and the places I’ve seen. Can’t wait to get going on the next adventure!

“When booking the trip, the service was good. All of my questions were answered.

Robert Hambly was AMAZING! He has excellent communication skills, arrived early to pick us up, and always made sure I knew where he would be at all times. He gave an intro before we left, and the safety speech. The motorcoach was in perfect condition.

There were no issues during our time, and I would rate my overall experience as a 10! We will definitely be requesting Mr. Hambly again for our next trip! I cannot brag on him enough. “

“The service was excellent!  Mark Nelson was fantastic!  Mark was very prompt, very professional and very courteous!  My boss is, and was, very impressed with Mark’s professionalism both this year and last year.  Mark did call my boss and introduced himself and verified the itinerary.  Yes, the safety speech was completed and the bus was great.”

I love being a Motor Coach Operator for Champion Coaches/Little Rock Coaches. I began my motorcoach career in the US Air Force in 1979. I later joined the Texas Air National Guard and began attending Texas A&M University at College Station, where I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology in 1987. I also have degrees from the Kilgore Police Academy and an Associate’s Degree in Science of Emergency Medicine from Kilgore College. I re-entered the field of transportation in 2010 and began driving again professionally in 2013. In 2019, I was awarded “Champion Driver” of the Little Rock Coaches first annual motorcoach rodeo.

I married my wife Melissa in 1997 and we have three daughters ages 32, 22, and 18, and I’m a proud grandfather to three grand dogs, three grand cats and a grand horse.

I am a member of Enon Baptist Church where I enjoy serving and worshipping my Lord and Savior. In my spare time, I enjoy riding my horse Charli, and tending to my herd of Hereford cattle. I am an avid Cowboys fan and I love model railroading.

David Sams

David

I have been driving motorcoaches since 2007.  I enjoy taking care of my groups and making them laugh.  When it’s time to start a trip, I feel a rush of energy come over me and it’s time to perform.  I love it.

I am proud to be the requested driver for almost all of the trips for Southern Arkansas University, and I received the highest honor from the baseball team, the Marble Award.  The secret to being a good driver is being dependable and flexible.  DOT regulates a lot of what we do, but there are ways to be flexible and accommodating so each group gets what they need.  I love to drive, and I love to entertain.  This job allows me to do both.

In my spare time, I also like to serve as a high school football referee.   I’ve been doing that since 1989.  I am also a big Elvis fan!  (David also does several impersonations… just ask, then stand back and watch the show!)

“Everything went very smoothly on both days! David was awesome to work with.

David was very receptive to questions. He was extremely courteous. David did reach out in advance to confirm the details in which we were able to easily plan both days. He is very safety-driven while behind the wheel. I would definitely rate a 10 in my terms of experience.” -Phillip

Larry Tilmon

Larry

I was a Pastor for almost 29 years and I occasionally speak at revivals.  I’ve been driving for Little Rock Coaches for more than five years, and I’ve found that a little humor goes a long way.  I have two sons and one grandson.  (Larry is so popular with one group that they have set up a Twitter account to follow him, and they post pictures when they see him around town… a true case of “Where’s Larry?”

“The NOLA trip was fantastic!  The service was great, as always, from start to finish.  Mr. Tilmon was the best; he did call and introduce himself and confirmed the itinerary, he was courteous, friendly and professional.  He did give a safety review before the trip and answered all questions that we asked.  Mr. Tilmon is a good driver.

The overall trip was great and deserves a 10 rating.

Thank you for working with us and for providing a safe and professional driver. – Barbara
